About Cowgirl Clippings
Howdy!
Welcome to a group-effort-of-a-blog. There’s a crew of writers here at “CC“, with some of us writing more than others. There are three of us who write most of the time, and a few who write some of the time.
Here are the three gals you’ll find here on a regular basis:
Hey there– my name is Chelsea. I’m the one on the right, holding our youngest daughter….
My cowboy-of-a-husband is Buck and these are our two daughters, currently aged 5 and 3 and a baby boy on the way- due in early June. We live in NE Oregon in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I’m originally from the great state of Idaho where I grew up doing the rodeo thing. Buck swept me off my feet about 7 years ago while I was in the middle of nursing school. We then got married, I finished two more years of school, then we came back to his homeland. We have a growing cow herd that keeps us busy. In addition, Buck runs a noxious weed spraying business and I work at our rural hospital where I really love to help women through the throes of childbirth.
And Hello! I’m Charlotte. I’m on the left with the black shirt on, holding Faith’s hand…

I grew up in the beautiful and windy state of Wyoming on the family ranch. While I was in Jr. High School, my father moved to a ranch in Western Colorado. I helped him during the summers and holidays until he moved to Eastern Colorado the fall of my final year of college. I went to college at the University of Wyoming, earning degrees in International Ag Economics & Russian. Then, after graduating and trudging through one last spring calving season in Eastern Colorado, I left the cold and headed for Palm Springs to work with polo ponies. There I met a Jordan Valley cowboy, (think Oregon Big Loop country), Pete, who came quietly beside me and eventually brought me to Idaho where we’re raising our four cowkids.
Ann (introduced by Chelsea) and I met when I was twelve. She was an adult leader my first year as a camper at Rodeo Bible Camp, and we started a friendship then that would carry us all the way from then to now. She was a leader several years I was at camp- both in the rodeo arena as an instructor and as a small group leader. Ann has always been a wonderful source of encouragement in my life- a little note in the mail, a visit, or her presence. She is genuine and real and inspiring and I’m excited for you to get to know her, too. Besides the impact she’s had on me, she’s much more than that. Ann is mom to four kids ranging in age from 2 to 15, and is wife to her talented husband, Ryan. She homeschools her kiddos and maintains a busy schedule of teaching and taking care of her family. She is involved in women’s ministry and has a heart to encourage young moms! Who doesn’t love that?! Ann is practical and energetic and has a positive attitude that radiates to those around her.
All of that background to say, we are basically like a lot of other blogging moms– we just really like having a creative outlet in our lives and place to share our day to day dreams, challenges, adventures, and our faith. Our heart is to encourage people to face their daily challenges (or daily hum-drum!) in the strength of the Lord. We enjoy sharing laughs and tears, through stories and anticdotes about life in these four sections:
Cowgirl Voices… here you’ll find western life…. horses, cows, cowboys, cowgirls, cowdogs, and anything else that has to do with western life.
Faith… thoughts about lives devoted to following Jesus…as women, as moms, as wives, as professionals, as friends devoted to living this thing out and “fighting the good fight of the faith”.
Cowkids… pretty much anything and everything that has to do with raising our kids, sometimes at home, sometimes outside in a world of cows, horses, and the like.
Come on Over… life at home, life with messes, life at work, life beyond cows and horses. Come on over, grab your hot drink of choice, and settle in for a visit!
We try to add recipes now and then and you can find those HERE or at the bottom of the home page or here at Annie’s Recipe Box.
In addition to the three of us, we have a few “Cowgirl Contributors” who show up here on occassion.
Whew! Those are the ins and outs… the nuts and bolts of the site. Hope you enjoy it!
We’re so glad you stopped by!
Blessings to you!
