My Fathers

From Charlotte……..
Some might say I am “unfortuate” to have a “broken” family. I don’t think so. I am lucky, some girls don’t have a father at all. Some girls only have one, but I have two fathers. (Of course, everyone has a Heavenly Father, so I guess that means I actually have three fathers.)
To the one my tribe calls “Grampa”:

Thank you for:
Your disarming (or is that charming?) smile
Your tradition of being a good stockman
Your perserverance in all kinds of weather (especially the wind)
Making me a Rancher’s Daughter
Teaching me “Don’t do as I do, do as I say” – it comes in handy now that I’m a parent
Forgiving me for all my dumb, teenager mistakes
Teaching me to respect the LORD God Almighty
And being proud of your “all girl crew”
To the one my tribe calls “Grandpa”:

Thank you for:
Loving my Mom
Loving my siblings and me
Being an example of true growth in the LORD
Being willing to change even when it isn’t easy
Not being afraid to use the gifts given to you
Having a wacky sense of humor to keep us all from taking life too seriously
Opening your home to all that our mixed family (or is that blended) has to offer
Being steady in all our family’s storms
To the one my tribe calls “Dad”:

Thank you for:
Choosing me (otherwise you wouldn’t be my tribe’s Dad)
Your commitment to the One True God
Not being afraid to lead
Protecting our tribe above all else
Playing with the tribe and making them laugh
Desiring to be the best Dad you can be
Guiding the tribe “in the way that they should go”
Providing for your family
